Rustic weddings and why they're so popular

The union of two people on their wedding day is a time for celebration.
The vows are exchanged, the bridal party and groomsmen are dressed in their finest and the ceremony and reception is decorated in grandeur.
In Australia in recent years the decorations for this special day have increasingly become more rustic and vintage. People increasingly have been swapping silk bows and ribbons for hessian and lace table settings to go with the elements of nature.
Rustic weddings bring jute bunting, wooden sign posts, burlap table runners, wooden boxes, tin cans, jars, jute bags for wedding bomberies, black boards and more vintage splendour.
The reason to go to these classic old-school charms is that it brings warmth to the occasion says Tina Hart, owner of Australia’s largest eco party store Eco Party Box.
“The fabrics of hessian, burlap and jute are soft and earthy, just what a down to earth couple want to convey about themselves to their guests,” says Tina.

“Just as people fall in love with the newly-weds they also fall in love with the back to basics style which are peppered with traces of nature, like flowers and sea shells, which gives a fresh appeal because it speaks to the heart.”

Eco Party Box stocks a variety of rustic wedding items including tablerunners, blackboards, hessian pouches and more.
