Bunting and Tissue Pom Pom Workshops with Tina

I love bunting, it's the prettiest decoration I know. It's also reusable - unlike balloons - and looks great when hung from walls or posts around a party, wedding or event.

So on April 12 I headed over to the Reynella Neighbourhood Centre in South Australia to show people how to make bunting in a workshop. It was an event held through the City of Onkaparinga.
We had 6 people attend - some were seasoned crafters who had just never considered making bunting before.
The great thing for everyone is it is not difficult.
We sourced flag material from the Waste Nott recycling store in Noarlunga, brought over some second-hand bias and pinned and stapled the flags onto the bias for sewing with a machine at home later.
We also created Tissue Pom Poms - which is so easy to make too and can also be pulled out for celebrations every year. With the Tissue Pom Poms we simply folded strips of tissue paper ensuring it was able to be hung with string.
The result was gorgeous tissue balls that are cheap and easy to make, enliven the walls at a party and are a really lovely alternative to balloons.
The next Bunting and Tissue Pom Pom Making Workshop will be held in Aldinga in May. Times and dates to be confirmed.
