These 8oz Single Wall Brown Kraft Paper Cups come in packs of 25 or 50 and are made from paper sourced from managed plantations that are SFI and FSC certified and are lined with PLA, a bioplastic derived from plant-based starch.
They differ from normal paper cups which are lined with polyethylene, a petroleum-based plastic lining.
Packs of 25 come packaged in home compostable brown paper bags, while packs of 50 come in soft plastic sleeves which you can recycle at REDcycle collection points.

BioCups are commercially compostable and recyclable in kerb-side recycling.
They are commerically compostable to Australian standards (AS4736) and comply with European standard EN 13432 for compostability and is ISO 22000 and ISO 14001 certified. This means they will break down into usable soil via a commercial composting facility as well.
Commercial composting is not widely available in Australia. Contact your council to find out if it is available for you. If you are from South Australia you can notify your council to let them know you are placing commercially compostable tableware in your green organics bin as this service is available throughout SA.
The manufacturing process for these products uses less energy and emits less pollution than petroleum-based products. It also generates fewer greenhouse gases.
